How much does a West London move cost?

A West London move with GT Removals costs from £50 an hour for a Transit van and driver. On weekdays you pay for one hour minimum, so a small move stays a small bill.

Driver plus two
£110an hour

Luton van

Driver plus one

Published rates at GT Removals cover moves of up to five miles. Longer moves carry a distance fee we agree with you first. Evening and weekend moves have a 1.5-hour minimum, and work between 7pm and 8am adds £10 an hour. Either way, you see the full price before you book.

For house removals in West London, you can choose a fixed price instead. Show us your rooms on WhatsApp, Zoom or FaceTime, and you get a fixed written quote, usually within a few hours. Road charges and stairs are built into that price, so it covers the move you showed us. Here is how our video surveys work.

Mansion flats, mews and terraces we move across West London

These homes are everyday work for our crews, and each move is planned around your building, your stairs and the kerb outside. Here is how that looks, area by area.

Professional house clearance and removal services across the UK - Home Moving Services
  • Mansion flats from Kensington to Maida Vale

Flat removals in a mansion block start with the lift. Tell us about the porter, the lift and any time slot on your video survey, and we plan around them. Our movers know the blocks off Kensington High Street, around Queen's Gate and along Elgin Avenue in Maida Vale. We know the mansion flats of Earls Court, the squares near Queensway in Bayswater and Lancaster Gate just as well.

  • Chelsea homes from the King's Road to the river

Chelsea moves run from flats above the King's Road to houses on Cheyne Walk. In Chelsea Riverside, the work takes in the streets around Lots Road. Knightsbridge and Brompton bring mansion blocks off Sloane Street and quiet roads around Old Brompton Road. Large houses and top-floor flats sit side by side here, and we match the van and crew to each home.

  • Mews and garden squares in Notting Hill and Holland Park

A mews is a narrow lane of old stables turned into homes, often with cobbles and tight turns. We check the lane on your video survey and send the right size of van. You will see our vans on Portobello Road, Ladbroke Grove and the garden squares along Holland Park Avenue.

  • Terraced streets across Hammersmith and Fulham

Victorian terraces fill this borough. Their front steps and narrow halls go into a fixed quote before the day. Moves here take us along Fulham's terraced streets off Munster Road and to Brook Green in Hammersmith. Homes around Parsons Green near New King's Road are on the same patch.

Football days need a plan too. Near Craven Cottage, match-day parking controls run from 9am to 9.30pm. Near Stamford Bridge, they run every day from 8.30am to 10pm, so your loading time is planned around both.

  • New-build flats around Wood Lane and White City

Our depot is in White City, so the new-build flats around Wood Lane and Shepherds Bush are on our doorstep. Many of these buildings have a concierge, a loading bay and a lift you book ahead. Send us your building's move rules, and the move fits into your slot.

  • Family houses in Ealing, Acton and Chiswick

Ealing, Acton and Chiswick have more family houses, with lofts, gardens and sheds to clear. The video survey tells us which van and crew to send. That might be a Transit for a flat, or a Luton with three people for a full house. You will find us on streets from Pitshanger Lane and Churchfield Road to the roads off Chiswick High Road.

Office moves in the evening or at weekends

An office move with GT Removals can run after 7pm or at the weekend, so your West London team keeps working all week.

Out of hours
Work after 7pm adds £10 an hour to the usual rate.
Packing
Desks, screens and files are packed in labelled crates, so they go straight back in place the next working day.
Your building
From Hammersmith to White City and Chiswick, each office move is planned around your building's loading rules.

What a parking bay for your removal van costs

Parking bay suspensions cost £25 to £72 a bay per day, depending on your council. Each suspension keeps the kerb outside your door clear, so the crew carries less and you pay for less time. We tell you which bays to book when we price your move. These are the council prices GT Removals checked in October 2026:

Parking bay suspension prices by West London council, checked in October 2026
CouncilBay priceNotice
Kensington and Chelsea£72 a bay a day10 working days' notice for resident bays
WestminsterBayswater, Maida Vale, Lancaster GateFrom £51 for the first day10 working days' notice
Hammersmith and Fulham£48 a bay a day8 days' notice for up to six bays
EalingEaling, Acton£39 a bay a dayor £50 with 3 working days' notice7 working days' notice
HounslowChiswick£25 a bay a dayplus a £40 admin fee10 working days' notice

In Kensington and Chelsea, a GT Removals van can load on a single yellow line with no special permit (opens in a new tab), as long as the crew keeps loading. Late requests there add a one-off £357 fee, so it pays to apply early.

Red routes such as the A40 Westway and the A4 only allow loading in marked boxes, at the times on the sign. Before the day, we pick the loading point, and our step-by-step bay suspension guide shows you how to apply.

Six movers our customers keep naming in Google reviews

Customers name our West London movers in their Google reviews again and again. Steve, Abrham, Robel, Biniyam, Sami and Afewerki are the names that come up, because people remember who took care of their home.

Those same crews handle house and office moves, man and van jobs, packing, pianos, student moves and rubbish clearance. For storage, they collect your things, keep them in a storage unit and drop them off when you are ready.

What people ask us about bridges, Carnival and stairs

020 3983 5849

Can you move me with Hammersmith Bridge closed?

Yes. Hammersmith Bridge has been closed to cars and vans since 2019. GT Removals plans a route over another bridge when it prices your move, and the crossing is planned from the start. For moves south of the river, see our South West London removals page.

Can I move house on Notting Hill Carnival weekend?

Yes, and the easiest days that weekend are the Saturday and the Tuesday. Carnival runs over the August bank holiday weekend. During the 2026 Carnival, most roads in the area closed from 6am on the Sunday to 6am on the Tuesday. Picking the Saturday or the Tuesday gives your van open roads at both ends.

Do you move people to Europe?

Yes. Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Brussels are regular runs for us, and we move people all over the UK too. Ask GT Removals for a European quote when you call, and the whole move is priced in one go.

Do you charge extra for stairs in a mansion block?

There is no separate stairs fee at GT Removals. On a fixed quote, the stairs are built into the price, and on an hourly booking they simply add carrying time. This guide explains how stairs affect your quote.

Will my West London move pay the Congestion Charge?

In most cases, no. Every area on this page sits outside the Congestion Charge zone, which ends at Edgware Road and Park Lane. Fixed house-move quotes already include any road charges. The moving traps that catch people out in West London also covers whether White City is in the zone.

Your council's notice period sets your earliest moving date

If you need a parking bay, GT Removals suggests booking your West London move at least two weeks ahead. Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Hounslow each ask for 10 working days' notice.

That means the bay often sets your date before the van does. Call us as soon as you have a completion date, and we will help you work back to the bay deadline.
